With over 20 years experience, the management of Plas Derwen Nursing Home pride ourselves on offering a highly professional nursing care service for the elderly aged 50 years and over suffering from dementia/mental infirmity, with a personal touch. We are pleased to accept Service Users for long term, short term for respite care and day care services.

The right of a Service User to be left alone and undisturbed whenever they wish. However, there are service user’s who lacks capacity and under constant supervision. Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard is applied for under Mental Capacity Act.

The understanding of a Service Users needs and treating them with
respect.
Independence
Independence
Allowing a Service User to take calculated risks, to make their own decisions and think and act for themselves. Staff will support individuals to make decisions for those who lack capacity.

Giving a Service User the opportunity to select for themselves from a range of alternative options.
Rights

Keeping all basic human rights available to the Service Users and allowing them to exercise those rights, either themselves or through their advocates.

Enabling the Service User to realise their own aims and helping them to achieve these goals in all aspects of daily living.
